Apr 06, 2007 - Area police combined forces Friday morning for a sweep of a local nursing home.
Five people were arrested at the East Peoria Gardens Health Care Center just after 5 a.m.
The Health Care facility is located on Springfield Road in East Peoria.
The Illinois State Police and its Medicaid Fraud Control Bureau, Illinois Department of Public Health along with Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department and East Peoria Fire and Rescue were all involved in the raid.
Authorities say they were looking for individuals associated with 15 warrants.
East Peoria’s Police Chief says they began an investigation after receiving numerous complaints about the behavior of residents in the facility.
